“Whip it…whip it gooooood!” says The Kitchen Magpie of her Best Buttercream Frosting. You’ll have to check out her site to see the delicious swirl of butter (must be salted!), cream and icing sugar she is mixing up for a homemade chocolate cake. It makes me want to ask her if I can lick the whisk when she’s done! When frosting is done right, it can definitely compete with the cake. I never thought I even liked frosting until I tasted the rich, yet airy consistency, of this kind of frosting. Ahhh…would it be okay to ask for cake with an extra side of buttercream???
