Chocolate with salted caramel might be one of the best flavor combos out there. I once had a salted caramel brownie ice cream and it sort of blew my mind. I just learned about Salted Caramel Ice Cream with Candied Bacon, and that also blew my mind. Around the Table on Blackberry Farm brings us another mind-blowing salted caramel experience with this gorgeous Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Frosting. Caramel is one of those things that seems a little scary to make, but after reading Kimberly’s directions I’m definitely going to give it a try. Mix it together with cream cheese frosting and voila! Not everything decadent has to be difficult. Go ahead, blow someone’s mind.
Once you make salted caramel, you will never go back! After you have made frosting, make more caramel – it is fabulous for apple-dipping, on ice cream, on popcorn, or straight off of the spoon. Ahem, not that I have done that, of course…
