It’s a pop of color and a splash of whimsy, with a creative use of eggnog that is sure to win over even a non-eggnog lover, such as Darla herself. In her own words, “The cake looks sort of homespun and old fashioned.” (Apparently, she has never seen one of my lop-sided cakes to decipher the true meaning of “homespun”). But even if I can’t quite whip up something this beautiful currently, she gives clear and practical step-by-step instructions that make me almost feel like I could do justice to this masterpiece…almost!
