Since 1949, thousands of talented cooks and bakers have submitted their recipes for the Pillsbury Bake-Off competition. This year, the Bake-Off was hosted in Orlando, Florida where the 100 finalists gathered to show off their favorite recipes. On March 27th, the winner was announced by Martha Stewart on the Hallmark Channel’s The Martha Stewart Show.
This year, Christina Verrelli took home the Sweet Treats award and the grand prize of one million dollars with her Pumpkin Ravioli with Salted Caramel Whipped Cream Recipe. Christina’s recipe made great use of Pillsbury’s ever-popular crescent roll dough along with cream cheese, canned pumpkin, and caramel syrup. These sweet raviolis are made by adding a pumpkin, cream cheese, and pecan filling to shaped crescent roll dough. Once baked, Christina tops the warm ravioli with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce and pecans, then also adds the caramel to fresh whipped cream. Sounds good, right? It’s no wonder this sweet genius took home the grand prize!
