I think we have all been eating sushi at some point, looked at the chopsticks in our hand, and thought, “if only I could eat everything with you. Food would be always fun with you, my little wooden friends.” Until now, I have only thought it was appropriate to eat sushi with those tiny utensils, but on her blog, Take a Megabite, Megan shows us that is simply not true with a strawberry shortcake, sushi style! Somewhat reminiscent of a Twinkie, Megan’s Strawberry Shortcake Sushi wraps yellow cake around some delicious strawberry and whipped cream filling, and then cuts the cake into little rolls and tops the rolls with a cut strawberry in true sushi style. Megan adds a strawberry coulis “soy sauce” for dipping, compliments of Smitten Kitchen, to add a little more sweetness to this super-fun and funky dessert. Grab your chopsticks—it’s going to be a sweet ride.
