Chocolate Espresso Pots de Creme with Espresso Whipped Cream

Pots de creme are an elegant dessert, and Sommer at A Spicy Perspective has developed a recipe that ensures your presentation can be just as refined. She developed her  Chocolate Espresso Pots de Creme with Espresso Whipped Cream specifically to use with some lovely Villeroy & Boch espresso cups, but she didn’t want to risk putting the cups in the oven. The result is a no-bake pot de creme with rich chocolate and espresso flavors. Rather than using the espresso flavor as a compliment, this dessert has “espresso in the forefront,” with even more espresso flavor infused into the whipped cream topping, and a chocolate-covered espresso bean to garnish. This dessert will “bring you to a stand still, then have you coming back for more.”  The deep chocolate color is so enticing. Rather than end my meal with a coffee or cappuccino, I’d much rather end it with this not-too-sweet chocolate treat.
