Oreo Cameo Art by Judith Klausner

My fiance is a graphic designer, so his art is his food. I am a baker. My food is my art. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, food and art can come together in the best of ways. When I saw these beautiful Oreo Cameos from Judith Klausner featured on Babble, I was incredibly impressed that she has been able to express herself, artistically, in as interesting a medium as Oreo cookies.

But my fiance was able to point out more. The control Ms. Klausner has over her medium, which in this case is Oreo cookie cream, is astounding. Her lines are so crisp and clear that you aren’t thinking about the Oreos themselves, but more about the carved image they present.

She is able to shape the hair and the contours of the face, all while still allowing the cookie itself to look delicious. Judith Klausner astounds and “gives us reason to take a second look at the mundane.”

Wow. These are amazing. I love what you said about your food being your art. I feel the same way about making desserts. :-)
