Pretty Desserts That Shine

There’s something magical about a little shimmer. It reminds us of celebrities, Disney princesses, late Saturday nights, New Year’s, and sweet sixteens. A little bit of sparkle can go a long way, and a lot of sparkle can make a big impact. Regardless of how much you use, sparkles are a perfect addition to any festivity, and for that matter, any festive dessert table. With all of these big summer bashes coming up, we at BFFF thought it only right that we handpick some of our favorite desserts to keep your parties shining all summer long. So here’s a list of our favorite sparkly and shiny desserts for you to enjoy. And while you’re at it, let us know what your sparkle preference is: silver or gold?

These Boxed Chocolate Mini Cakes from Sweetapolita are too pretty to be true. Inspired by a Valentine’s Day box of chocolates, these cakes are delicious and decadent with just the right amount of shine.

These Sparkling Macarons from Martha Stewart Weddings are the perfect addition to something as fancy as a sparkly summer wedding or as simple as a posh summer brunch.

The Swansong Cupcake from ConnieCupcake is an ode to all things sparkly and feminine. Connie’s famous lemon cake is filled with strawberry mousse and topped with lemon buttercream.

These Gold Irish Butter & Oats Sandwich Cookies from Love & Cupcakes are the perfect addition to some of those cold summer evenings we get up north. Paired with a glass of strong Irish coffee, these little bites are a party for your mouth.

Pham Fatale‘s Mint and Chocolate Filled Rose Thumbprint Cookies are as adorable as they are tasty. Pham herself made these as a treat for an adorable five year old girl, but I don’t think we ever grow out of our love for pink and sparkles, do we?

The lovely Heather from SprinkleBakes created these Vanilla Rosewater Cupcakes for The Modcloth Blog. With candied rose petals and edible gold flakes, these cupcakes would work perfectly for a summer tea or as a blush-and-gold wedding dessert.

This Pineapple Ginger Chiller from Sugar and Charm flaunts a sparkly gold star rim and a refreshing buzz-worthy taste. The blog’s author, Eden, used these for her Oscar party, but I see no reason why you couldn’t use them for a classy Fourth of July celebration or to add a little shimmer to that summer barbeque.

This Sparkle Cherry from ConnieCupcake gives “with a cherry on top” a whole new meaning. Dipped in edible gold, this stunner makes a classic addition to any cupcake.

By now, I’m sure you’re ready to get your sparkle on, so I’ll make it easy for you. You can pick up some of this Edible Gold Glitter from Wilton either online or in store for all of your upcoming shine-worthy events.
