Sprinkles Cupcakes, the franchise some say is responsible for initiating the cupcake craze, will soon open a total of 34 stores in 10 Middle East countries. The first is scheduled to open in Kuwait in January.

Company founder Candace Nelson opened the flagship store in Beverly Hills in 2004, and has since expanded to metropolitan cities across the United States. Nelson signed a franchise agreement  with an international retail franchise operator that will create a presence for her brand in countries including Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco, according to a recent press release.

So fear not, cupcake lovers. Should you ever find yourself in the Middle East with a craving for something sweet, you’ll be thrilled to know that a perfectly proportioned, delightfully decadent, frosted confection is nearby.
