Today, we’re offering you an exclusive look at entertaining with Eden of Sugar and Charm. She’s sharing all of her secrets on how to host the perfect party!
Fave DIY decoration to make:
I like making a party personal by adding photo or monogrammed decorations. I love creating charming photo garlands, drink sticks, and stickers. Also, I tend to go monogramming crazy on napkins, glasses, etc. All of the little details add up to make one sweet party.
Fave Location to host a party:
Now that we bought our first home I have a feeling this will become my new favorite place to host a party! I’m really looking forward to celebrating birthdays and special events here.
Tip for simplicity:
Prepare days before! I know it seems like an obvious tip, but it really is something I live by when hosting parties. You can make a a list and schedule what you can be completed days in advance. Things like buying groceries, setting the table, making party decorations, and creating gorgeous arrangements.
Best Kept Secret:
If you’re hosting a party with more than 10 people, hire someone (even like a high school student looking for a little money!) for a few hours who can help refill drinks, manage the food, and cleanup! If you’re going to put effort into making an event special you should enjoy it too. Having an extra hand is worth the small price.
Currently Pulling Inspiration From:
When it comes to party planning I read a lot of wedding blogs for inspiration. I like Once Wed and Style Me Pretty. I also pull a lot of inspiration from my Martha Stewart magazine and refer back to past pins on Pinterest.
I can’t live without:
Flowers! They’re such a beautiful way to decorate a room or event. They brighten a space and make me happy!
Currently Shopping at:
I have SO many stores I like to shop at for party goods and entertaining supplies. A few favorites are Shop Terrain, World Market, Create Barrel, Shop Sweet Lulu, Paper Source, and little boutiques around Los Angeles.
