When we say we want to celebrate the everyday, we mean it! Today we’ve got a great DIY glitter magnet project by BFFF founder Melissa Johnson. Use these magnets to spice up your fridge, your office whiteboard, or whatever you choose! This is our second contribution to Martha Stewart’s #12MonthsofMartha project. Check out Melissa’s debut #12MonthsofMartha post, How To Make A Valentine’s Chalkboard Bunting Banner, and then read on for the magnet tutorial! Here’s what Melissa has to say about it:
“Ready to sparkle? We have an easy and chic DIY project that only requires 3 materials! It’s exciting how simple these sparkly glitter magnets were to make. The glitter and sequins stick flawlessly to the nail polish better than glue. Martha Stewart’s glitter is like no other glitter I have used before— it reminds me of something the tooth fairy would have in her pocket! It’s simply magical. So are these iridescent hearts and stars. And with so many colors and varieties, the DIY customization of these magnets are endless.”
SPARKLY CHIC GLITTER MAGNETS
—Circle shaped magnets (or any shaped magnet of your choice)
—Glitter Tray & Rack (not necessary, but very helpful for saving the loose pieces of glitter and sequins)
1. Apply 1 coat of nail polish to your magnet.
2. Sprinkle a generous amount of glitter or iridescent hearts over the nail polish.
3. Allow to dry for approximately 3 hours.
