Looking for a great way to amp up your wardrobe this spring? We’re so thrilled to have Monica of 45 Fairmount sharing tips and tricks on making the most out of your new spring outfits! Here’s what Monica has to say:
Spring is finally here! Can you believe it? Not only am I excited about the warmer weather and gorgeous flowers blooming, but also I’m obsessed with this year’s spring trends! From soft shades of pink to fringe, there is so much opportunity to refresh your wardrobe this season.
As much as I want to jump ahead to full-on spring attire, the weather just will not permit a sleeveless sundress quite yet. Living in LA, mornings and evenings still remain a little cooler even throughout the spring and summer. Since we are still experiencing some cold days, I’m excited to share with you my most recent T.J. Maxx finds and tips on how you can transition your wardrobe into spring.
When the weather transitions from winter to spring, you just can’t go wrong with light sweaters. I’m absolutely in love with this soft purple sweater that I found at T.J. Maxx. When I saw it, I immediately knew that it needed to be paired with grey denim for the perfect spring look. I’m always on the search for that fabulous combination of chic and comfortable. This look is chic enough for the office, and comfortable enough for those days when you are on the go and out running errands.
Pastel Sweaters: Think soft shades of pink, purple, and blue. These gorgeous shades in the form of a cozy sweater will make you radiate the essence of spring, while still staying warm on those colder spring days. Light sweaters are the way to go as they make great layering pieces and you wont get too hot when then sun is shining.
Light Denim: This past winter, the “winter white” look was a huge trend. It’s now time to take that light denim and make it spring ready by pairing it with colorful accessories and tops. I love the look of pastel shades with not only white denim, but also grey and faded blue denim.
Platform Sandals: Platform shoes are back this spring. You have probably already starting seeing them in all forms including sneakers, mules, and sandals. I love the platform sandal because it prevents you from wearing too bulky of a shoe and is more feminine. Platform shoes look great with denim. You should also try them out with another spring trend- wide-legged trousers!
Neutral Bags: Neutral bags are huge this spring and they’re especially made for the girl on-the-go, which is something that I love. A soft shade of pink, gold or beige bag is going to be the perfect accessory to complete a spring look. Be on the lookout for a cross-body or bucket bag. I can guarantee you that this will be your go-to bag for the rest of spring and into summer.
Most of all, have fun with it! Fashion transitions can be tough, but remember to stay chic and comfortable all at the same time!
