Spring is here! Here at Best Friends For Frosting, we are so ready for an al fresco styled brunch every weekend! Spring time is all about enjoying the transition from winter to summer, and enjoying the outdoors before it gets too hot out! We love getting together with our best friends and having brunch during the spring because it’s always a fabulous time to catch up with girl friends and sip mimosas on the back patio!!! We are so thrilled to be having Rae Anne from Alpine Ridge Events with us to show us how she styled this amazing and chic spring inspired brunch with greatly captured moments by Samantha McFarlen Photography. Here is Rae Anne on the details:
When Sam came to me with the idea of putting together a spring styled session, I was so excited! I’ll admit I love each season for their own reasons because it is like new chapters throughout the year- and spring is definitely a fun new Chapter! Bright colors, fresh greenery, white vases, and bold flowers are at the top of my list when it comes to spring. While planning this photo shoot, those were the ideas we kept in mind. We started with citrus elements for our main inspiration and then bounced ideas off of each other until we found the overall feel we wanted.
When styling a party you want to have a focal point. Food is always a great place to start when wanting to make a statement. You should begin with choosing a color scheme for your glassware and serving trays. We stuck with white and clear. Using trays and bowls with varying heights will help draw your eye from one place to another! We used a glass serving platter for our citrus & mint salad, a white 3 tiered plate stand to display pastries, and finished it off with a clear bowl of parfait! Using vases filled with flowers or greenery, we filled in empty spots and that added more element to our food table!
We had so much fun working together on this Spring Brunch. Sam is a wonderful photographer, great to work with, and I love her eye for capturing even the smallest of details!
