Let’s face it, no Cinco de Mayo celebration is complete without one simple ingredient: a killer margarita. And with one of our favorite annual events just around the corner we’re going to let you in on our little secret: the recipe for the Patrón Margarita of the Year. That’s right, move over margarita mix, there’s a new kick tail drink in town, and we’re going to show you how to make it.
And you may be wondering, what makes this drink so great? Created by Texan bartender Jordan Corney, the Rosa Picante Margarita is a modern take on the (now) classic jalapeño margarita, with an unexpected twist to boot. We’re talking citrusy and spicy with a floral touch.
ROSA PICANTE MARGARITA RECIPE
2 oz Patrón Silver
.5 oz Patrón Citrónge Lime
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Ginger Syrup
+ Barspoon Jalapeño Oil
+ Dash rosewater
+ Rose petal sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe that has been half-rimmed with rose sea salt, and top with a dash of rose water. Garnish with a rose petal, if available.
Now, roll out those tortillas, top those tostadas and let the celebrations begin!
