PALM-LEAF-PRINTED-SKIRT

How is summer half way over?! Aside from pink pineapples and cacti, one of my favorite summer trends has been palm leaves – whether they are on aprons, purses, skirts, dresses, or cakes, they just resonate with fun, and lots of it! Every time I see palm leaves, they literally make me want to pack my bags and head straight to Palm Springs, especially with this green palm leaf skirt!! Who else is with me?

Last week I shared on Instagram about how I still feel self-conscious since I have been sharing more personal posts. I worry about upsetting you guys or stepping on toes. I even question myself left and right…Being yourself on the internet is a wild thing, but I will muscle through these growing pains and get there, I promise!

When I posted this photo above, I actually toyed with the thought of asking the photographer to crop my tummy in to make me look skinnier. I have no idea if she would have even done that for me (probably not), but I felt really insecure, which in reality, I know deep down inside is a way I really should not be feeling. I also almost didn’t share this image because of it…and then I thought more and more and more and decided to change this into an amazing opportunity! I need to let my guard down and be real. This is what I look like in real life and it’s okay!  I am going to own it! =)  We’re always our own worst critics, right?!

I just had a baby 8 months ago, and in reality, I do still have a pouch, and this is exactly where I am supposed to be in my life. What an opportunity to share exactly what I look like 8 months after having a baby. I wish I could share with you how I looked after I had my first little guy. I gained 70 pounds, and, you know, that is just reality. I know so many celebrities share their ripped bodies after having babies, but is that really a reality?! At least not in my neck of the woods! ;)

SUMMER-FASHION-OUTFIT
In the meantime, I plan on having some fun around California on mini stay-cations (aren’t those the best?) and trying to keep it real! I have some more really fun DIY projects that I will be sharing with you in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!

PS. I originally got this skirt at Mindy Mae’s Market but they’re sold out so I linked to another fun one from Dolce Gabana.
