5 Decorations I Wish I Had at my Wedding Reception

It has been well  over a year since Andy and my (Melissa) wedding reception.  Long story short, we have been together since 2005 ~ engaged in 2008 ~ married in 2009.  Reflecting back and sifting through Etsy, I came across several things I wish I had incorporated into our elegant and vintage wedding reception.   We have decided to dedicate this week’s “5 Things We Love” to these following finds:

Etsy Shop,BraggingBags offers a set of 6 Wood Tree Trunk Slices that are set up for use as cake  and/or dessert stands.  I wish I had known about these while preparing for our wedding reception.  These would have been ideal for our candy bar.

Another terrific find on Etsy from Emu926 Shop. We just adore these bird cake toppers.  They are hand stitched and made from a variety of different fabrics.

Check out this Hollywood Regency Wedding Vintage inspired Chalkboard sign offered by RevivedVintage.  I love how the placement is on the fence.  My wedding reception was indoor/outdoor.  I could just see “Congratulations Mr & Mrs Johnson) handwritten on the sign in an elegant cursive fashion.

I love this shabby chic inspired “nesting” 3 eggs in a bird’s nest offered by bluepearls Etsy shop.   Thought engaged prior to my pregnancy, I got pregnant before the actual wedding arrived as planned.  We ended up rushing a fabulous DIY wedding reception in a matter of 2 months after our wedding.  This bird’s nest reflecting how Andy and I were settling down to nest as a family- just the three of us.

I am in-love with these Vintage key magnets.  These would have made fabulous wedding favors to go with our vintage theme.  Plus, this wedding was to celebrate that we have unlocked the key to each other’s hearts.   bluepearls, you have done it again with another fabulous find.

XOXO Melissa
