We had a fabulous Memorial Day celebration! With sunny skies, cherished friends and family, and summery vibes, the “entertaining” part came naturally– it’s never been so fun and stress-free to host a gathering.
The Kraft chocolate chunk and marshmallow sundaes, inspired by the recipe at KraftRecipes.com, were a hit among all the guests. We can’t blame them! Created in individual glasses, they ranged from heavy on the chocolate to heavy on the berries, with every variation in between. The cold milk and fresh strawberries were the treats we needed to cool down on such a warm day, and the crowd ate them up.
What was really great about serving these sundaes was that everyone could make their own choices! We’ve all had to deal with an awkward party or two in which we politely take a heaping plate of something we don’t really want. In this case, the guests got to put together their own sundaes with whatever toppings they wanted, in whatever portion sizes they wanted! The health-conscious added lots of berries, while the sweet-toothed among us loaded up on marshmallows or an extra dollop of Cool Whip.
Even better, the dessert definitely inspired some of our guests to try their own spins on the recipe! While this might be our new go-to, the sundae has so many options that we’re sure we’ll be seeing it at other barbecues or backyard parties this summer. Whether they add a couple of different toppings, like KRAFT Caramel Bits or PLANTERS Dry Roasted Peanuts, or give it a revamp with a totally different base taste, like JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding, we know it’s versatile enough to work for any holiday!
CHOCOLATE CHUNK AND MARSHMALLOW SUNDAE
Prep: 10 min.
–2 pkg. (3.9 oz. each) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
–2 cups cold milk
–1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
–1 cup JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
–1 pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, coarsely chopped
–2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
–top with chopped walnuts
1. BEAT pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min.
2. STIR in COOL WHIP, marshmallows and chocolate.
3. SPOON into 2-qt. freezer-safe container; cover.
4. FREEZE 4 hours or until firm. Scoop into dessert dishes; top with berries and nuts.
MORE INGREDIENT IDEAS:
-Add in KRAFT Caramel Bits, BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut, PLANTERS Dry Roasted Peanuts, and/or bear-shaped graham snacks.
-Shake it up altogether and create an OREO Cookies & Creme Sundae by replacing a few key flavors! Prepare your sundae with JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding, and substitute 15 coarsely chopped OREO Cookies for the marshmallows and chocolate.
