My oh my! What a whirlwind this past week has been. Best Friends for Frosting has partnered with Pinnacle Vodka for a three-month series showcasing the use of Pinnacle Vodka in summer soirees, celebrations, and so much more!

Last week, we had our very own Hilari Schaefer, Director of Sales and Strategic Partnerships, travel to NYC to attend the Pinnacle Cocktail Club kickoff event at the open-air cabanas at the gorgeous Maritime Hotel! It was an especially dreary NYC day, but this atmosphere was so inviting that it felt like a beautiful spring day, even if it was pouring out! Below, Hilari recaps the fun night and shares a specialty cocktail drink recipe she learned at the event.

“I mingled with other bloggers, listened to Brian Van Flandern (master mixologist) share his tremendous knowledge about all things related to mixed drinks and alcohol, dabbled in making my own cocktails, and sampled far too many delicious sweets. The space was set up with five tables, with ingredients for a different mixed drink at each table. Throughout the night, we rotated in groups to try making each of the five drinks. It was so fun to see what variations of the cocktails made them taste better (or worse). Personally, I’m a bubbly lover, so I added club soda to all of mine!

This was an awesome way to break the ice and bond with the other bloggers that were in attendance, and gave us exposure to the many varieties of Pinnacle alcohol– 42 to be exact! PS: This would also be a great idea for a couples shower or a corporate party. It’s a wonderful way to get to know all of the guests with activities that are a little outside the box!

A fun fact I learned from listening to all of Brian’s incredible mixology knowledge is that vodka doesn’t always have to burn when it goes down! Who knew?! If you take a sip and slowly exhale after, you shouldn’t even feel it. Try it out!

There were also themed tables set up around the room, each showcasing a flavor of vodka with sweets that coordinate nicely. I loved the table pictured above with the Whipped Vodka and fixings for s’mores. They were set up on an adorable mini green grill and tasted even better than they looked! Another favorite table of mine was the one of all pastel sweets– macarons, eclairs, specialty candies, and more made this table a popular one. The other themed table that really caught my eye was the super springy table, full of fresh tulips (my favorite!) and pinwheels, grass, and more. I loved how the desserts simply blended into the gorgeous background, making this table truly “wow” guests!

We were encouraged to take photos, videos, and post to social media throughout the event. It was also fun to have a professional photographer on hand, capturing the event and the many candid moments during the night!”

We are THRILLED about this partnership and have so many creative ideas to share with you over the coming months! First up is one of the most popular drinks from the night. The S’mores Cocktail is full of chocolatey goodness combined with Pinnacle Whipped Vodka– yes please!

PS. Surprise!  Hilari flies back out to NYC next week to shoot an exclusive video with Pinnacle on something that will inspire you to love your life on the outside.  Follow us on Instagram @bestfriendsforfrosting for all the behind-the-scenes scoop!

pinnacle smore cocktail

—1 part Pinnacle Whipped Vodka

—1 part chocolate liqueur

—1 part club soda

-Garnish with marshmallows

*1 part = 1 jigger full, be sure to fill to brim!

1. Add ice to your cocktail shaker, enough to fill it about 3/4 full.

2. Add the Pinnacle Whipped Vodka and the Chocolate Liqueur. Shake vigorously {don’t forget to put the cap on!}

3. Add the club soda and gently shake back and forth- you don’t want the carbonation to make the drink too fizzy and explode.

4. Serve in pretty glasses and garnish with mini marshmallows!

Note: For extra flavor, we gently torched the marshmallow!
