When the weather starts to warm up, we want to get outside! Everything from walks through the park to picnics are on our radar, and it’s the absolute perfect time to spend the afternoon outside with your girlfriends! We’re so thrilled to have Marion of Open Door Shop sharing the details of her Girl’s Day Out Alfreso Lunch with us! Here’s what Marion has to say:
With the warm weather coming, it was the perfect time to host this Alfresco Lunch outside! Here are Open Door Shop, we’re big on the idea of Everyday Entertaining, meaning we think you should focus plan your budget and style around the the dinnerware and serving pieces that you use everyday! There’ nothing wrong with pulling your mother’s fine china out of the dining room hutch, but let’s face it, entertaining has become more casual!

We think that owning a fabulous set of ceramic dinnerware gives you endless opportunities when experimenting with linens, serving pieces, florals, and glassware. Thus, making entertaining so much more fun!

We used a simply arrangement of Zinnias, olive branch clippings, and Queen Anne’s Lace for the floral arrangements. The white washed vases came from one of our favorite gorgeous antique stores.

To set the table, we used a mix of table decor including turquoise dinnerware paired with white serving pieces. We incorporated olive branches in each table setting to tie the florals together.

The addition of Mini Vanilla Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting and a bit of bubbly served as the perfect way to round out the afternoon!
