If you are anything like us, you are ready to swap out those hot toddies and spiced hot chocolates with something a little lighter and more spring-ready! Luckily, we have Lauren Kelp here to share a fresh, fun drink recipe with you that will absolutely hit the spot!
The second that warmer weather starts to creep in, I am ready to open my windows, pour the champagne, and celebrate spring! And this little cocktail is just the thing to get you in mood for a party. It’s light, refreshing, and perfectly easy to make!
This champagne-based cocktail is perfect for when you have a group of gals over, before a meal as a little aperitif, or a sunny patio brunch. With basically two ingredients, you can’t go wrong. Love the idea but trying to cut back on the booze? Swap out the Prosecco for your favorite sparkling water and you’ve got an alcohol free treat!
- 2 tsp. Elderflower lemonade
- 8 oz. Prosecco
- 1 lemon
- Several sprigs of thyme
*Makes 2 cocktails
- Break a sprig of thyme in half and press to the bottom of each glass. This helps release the thyme’s oils and gives it a gently muddling effect.
- Pour in a teaspoon of Elderflower lemonade in each glass and top off with Prosecco.
- Add another sprig in each glass to garnish and squeeze in a slice of lemon. For an extra tart-kick, leave the lemon slide in the cocktail as an additional garnish.
