Brunch with friends and family is ALWAYS a great idea in my book.  Who else agrees?  Sweet, savory or preferably both, you can 100% count me in!   I’ve always found brunch to be the perfect opportunity to spend time with your favorite people while eating your favorite bites. And, since brunch takes place in the morning, it is the perfect way to kick off the day, or even the weekend!

Not only is summer the perfect season for a classy brunch, it is also the season of the prestigious Wimbledon tennis competition, held in London. Even though I’ve never been to Wimbledon myself, the event is super elegant and chic, and has such a fun style! We recently decided to create a Wimbledon-inspired brunch, so we busted out some of our favorite bites and got busy.  One of my all-time favorite treats that we served was a strawberry and cream cake, inspired by the Wimbledon favorite, berries and cream! We also served up fruit tarts, croissants, and of course, a fun pink drink! Pink Lemonade Mimosas add a pop of color and sweetness to the more traditional Wimbledon glass of champagne.  I mean, who can turn down a dessert-filled brunch?

Sometimes, hosting a brunch (or any event!) can seem daunting, but do not let that discourage you.  I have some simple tips for throwing together an easy table spread! Using simple white plates is a great way to bring class into your brunch – I used some small porcelain tea plates to hold all of the brunch goodies. A simple natural wood cutting board can be used in place of a serving platter to add contrast, and a few floral touches can add style to your table! Using greenery, like ferns, and colorful flowers (pink, of course!) can really add pops of color to your brunch and make it look so inviting.  I was torn between the idea of taping the pink florals to the wall and just placing them on the table, but I absolutely love the color contrast on the light-stained wood.

The Wimbledon Finals are coming July 9 & 10. Two days of the finest tennis you will ever see, and the perfect time to celebrate with friends. Visit www. wimbledonweekend.com to learn more.
