HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY START YOUR DAY

Remember last week when I shared a brief peek into what a normal work day looks like for me? Crazy right?! The only time I get some real “me time” is when the house is completely quiet in the early part of the morning while everyone is still sleeping (hallelujah)!  It is some of the most sacred time I get these days –  like it’s all mine and I don’t have to share it. Most of the time, kick my morning me time off in my pajamas over a great cup of coffee. My Keurig and the new Starbucks® Caffe Latte K-Cup® pods have been lifesavers lately. I mean, I certainly wouldn’t want to jeopardize getting dressed and doing my makeup before heading to Starbucks, and then having the kids wake up, and before I know it my time is up. No way, Jose! Okay, I actually feel bad just writing that. It sounds so selfish, but I am hoping you understand where I am coming from. ;)  The truth is, we all need to take moments for ourselves!

Like a lot of you, it’s so hard for me to find time to actually squeeze out the door to grab Starbucks. Instead I stay home and use my Keurig to brew my very own lattes. I just pop a pod in my Keurig since it’s a constant race against the clock these days. The struggle is real. ;) I’m obsessed with the Starbucks® Caffe Latte K-Cup® pods. They come in some seriously amazing flavors. Whether you’re a mocha, vanilla (my favorite), or caramel lover, these new flavors totally bring the creamy taste of a latte straight from the Keurig, true story!

After my cup is all done brewing, I usually find a comfy seat and collect my thughts or read something that is highly motivational. It really sets the tone for my day. I’ve read a lot about successful entrepreneurs and their morning routines and how they set themselves up for success. Some of my favorite routines I’ve learned include: watching something motivational or learning something, don’t ever check your email within the first hour of the day (I used to do this all the time in bed, biggest mistake), gain awareness and be grateful, and get some exercise. I think these are all amazing ways to really wake up! After the first hour, bring the computer on. ;) I normally will watch a couple motivational YouTube videos or read something empowering.
 
I feel like every day is different, but the more days go by, the more I feel like “I got this.” :)  So now, I am turning the microphone on you, girlfriend! What are some of your favorite morning regimes? I would love to know as I am still learning as I go!
