3 Amazing Sacramento Restaurants

Today I am thrilled to take you guys on a FUN tour sharing 3 of my favorite spots in Sacramento!   It’s always so much fun to stumble into great new places that are right in your backyard, right?!  I’ve enjoyed them all so much, I thought I would round up a few of the absolute best to share with you all.

OBO is one of my absolute FAVORITE places in Sacramento. It’s founded by the Randy Selland of Sellands Market & Cafe + Ella Dining Room & Bar.  I love going during Happy Hour for one of their seriously amazing pizzas and catching up with a friend on their outdoor patio. Just last week I actually met up with a girlfriend to split a piece (okay maybe it was two) of their famous cheesecake. Their cheesecake is one of the best in Sacramento- you have to try it!

As I was heading out the door to meet her, I grabbed these sunglasses, so I would be fully prepared for our outdoor catch-up sesh. I had actually impulse bought them only two days before, but you guys I am SO, SO happy I did! I’m usually pretty particular about my sunglasses, so I was wary about ordering online, but the retro vibe of this pair had them calling my name! Plus they were such an affordable price and Discount Glasses offers free shipping and free return shipping, so honestly how could I say no?

I was so in love with the first pair, I ordered another and have practically been living in them!! The other night, Andy surprised me with a last minute date night at The Flamingo House and this pair of the Moda 110’s were the perfect accent to my outfit. I actually like these better than my Ray Ban aviators that Claire literally broke 2 weeks ago. They are soooo comfortable.  I’m such a sucker for a good pair of Aviators, and the subtle tortoise shell of these adds some classic sophistication that I’m still obsessing over.

I had never been to The Flamingo House before, but Andy suggested it and definitely knows me too well, because this pink paradise is my definition of a vacation!! There are so many variations of pink and all of their accents are beautiful shades of teal and navy. Such a colorful and upbeat vibe! We dropped in, split a few of their incredible small plates, and spent some much needed time together on their outdoor patio.

One of the hands down best places in Sacramento though is The Porch. Check your diet at the door and get ready for some serious comfort food! Don’t worry– it’s more than worth it! Literally every single thing on their menu is delicious, but their brunch is an absolute must.

The menu is focused on Southern dishes with a California twist, and the restaurant itself definitely echoes that. They have the cutest, white, wrap-around porch out front, complete with hanging flower baskets and plenty of outdoor seating. Splitting some of their delicious biscuits on that front porch will make you feel like you’ve died and gone to Georgia!
We had some relatives in town over the weekend and we took them here for Sunday brunch. None of us could get enough! So good! Even the kids gave their approval after sampling the Chicken & Waffles and Brioche French Toast.

My new aviators still stole the show though! (Oh yeah, I wore them again. Told you I was obsessed!) I’m so glad I got the second pair. The first were purely transitional lenses, which have been so versatile, but the second pair I decided to order to my prescription. I love that even with a prescription, they still feel lightweight and look so amazing. Having them for brunch outside was such a game changer. I could keep them on for the whole meal–easily read the menu, chat with family, without having to flip back and forth between my glasses and sunglasses. I’m already eyeing a matching pair of contacts. (Which, PSA, this site offers a whole 20% off to new customers for their first order.)   Now that I’ve shared some of the best kept secrets of Sacramento, I’ll hopefully get to run into more of you guys and more often ;)
