Fall Porch Décor
As we welcome a brand new season, I could not be more excited to complete our back patio deck just in time for fall entertaining! Confession: I have never decorated our back patio before. It never appealed to me until we bought our first home 2 years ago. As we literally just wrapped up re-landscaping our backyard, I knew having our patio re-done would be the icing on the cake – hello fall entertaining! As fall is my absolute favorite season, I was stoked with the timing, and I am SO excited to share the results with all of you!

Let’s talk about pieces. I know selecting furniture pieces can be a bit overwhelming. So many thoughts come into play during the process: How many people will I host? Do we need a table? Do we need rugs? How do you get that tied in look that makes your yard feel like “home?” and the list goes on. Surprisingly, the backyard was a much easier process than I could have ever imagined. It was actually one of the easiest spaces in the house to design. Andy came up with most of the concepts for the backyard landscaping, but when it came down to the patio furniture, I was in “the zone” like Britney Spears would say, J/K! ;)
How to Decorate Your Back Porch
I wanted to match the modern aesthetics of the yard, but also wanted to make sure it felt cozy. I live several minutes away from the Sacramento RC Willey location, so this was my go-to spot for pieces. Have you ever been to one of their stores before? We’ve taken the kids for free hot dogs on Saturdays (yes, they really do this) and always have such a fun time looking at all of their decorations. They have such amazing pieces for the yard and porches, and I have honestly been looking at a few of their items for a while trying to see how I could incorporate them all together. It took a bit of searching, because it is so hard to pick just a few pieces from all of their wonderful designs. But finally, I found the perfect pieces for my back porch and started to decorate!
Pumpkin Picking
As you guys know from decorating my parent’s front porch, we LOVE going to the pumpkin patch as a family. I especially love using those pumpkins for our porch decorating! So of course I had to use some of the pumpkins we picked for back porch decorations. We love going to Dave’s Pumpkin Patch, since they have the best pumpkins. Dave’s Pumpkin Patch has pumpkins in all sizes and colors, so I know we are able to pick the perfect pumpkins every year! Being able to do fall activities is always a plus, but when I am able to use what we find for decorations, it is such an amazing feeling!
How to Decorate Your Porch For Fall
I had my eye on this outdoor dining table for quite some time, paired with these Eucalyptus Wood Chairs. I love the light gray and wood contrast, and I just love how it all ties together. We ended up getting four chairs without arms and added two of the arm chairs to complete the dining table look, pairing it all with this striped blue rug. I’m obsessed! I think the table and chairs go so well with the deck, especially with the little splash of blue, and they fit perfectly in the space! I couldn’t have asked for a better set!!
Fall Back Porch Ideas
I didn’t realize how much usable space there was on the back porch. I feel awful for not using it sooner! Having all of that space and not taking advantage of it seems so silly now that we have all of the pieces together. To make a cozier outdoor space, I started with this tan rug over top of our new concrete patio to separate out the space. Then, added this Eucalyptus Wood Patio Table, with two of the matching patio chairs, and one outdoor sofa. And let me tell you, I might move in out here! ;) These chairs are so incredibly comfortable – the perfect spot for morning coffee! I cannot wait to make wonderful memories with friends and family in this new space, especially now that we’ve added a fire pit too to make it ever cozier!
Fall Decorating Ideas
If you know me, making memories as a family is the most important to me. And now, I love that we were able to find such great pieces to create the perfect outdoor space so I can keep doing just that!
