Here at Best Friends For Frosting, we are obsessed with all of the current party decor trends going on right now! With spring here, there are so many eloquent and fun ideas floating around that we can’t wait to plan our next get together! For some serious party inspiration, we are thrilled to be featuring this fun black, white, with a pop of hot pink party inspiration styled by Sarah Sull of August In Bloom! Here is Sarah on how she styled this amazing party:
I am always looking to fashion for inspiration in my event styling. I love current trends and fresh ideas when it comes to combining color and patterns. There are a handful of designers who I find particularly inspiring and Kate Spade is one of them. Who isn’t loving everything Kate Spade right now?! Her designs are fun, modern, sophisticated yet girly, and even a bit cheeky. I love how her brand is all about celebrating life and yourself – with lots of champagne!
I was so excited to do this styled shoot and I knew I wanted to do something fashion forward. I created a dessert table for a bridal shower that incorporated bright pops of color and Kate Spade’s iconic bold black and white stripes. The backdrop was made up of large handmade paper flowers- a huge trend right now that was all over this year’s Spring runway shows. On the menu was a clean and modern striped, tiered cake, pink gumdrop topped cupcakes, gold painted macarons, mini champagne bottles, striped marshmallows, chocolate covered Oreos, peony topped sugar cookies, and cotton candy mocktails. I always love adding a dose of unexpected charm by putting a fresh spin on classic sweets.
The theme of the design was carried through all details from the beautiful invitation to the bright florals and bold linen. We created an adorable proposal box as a creative way to ask that special someone to be your bridesmaid and filled it with all types of goodies. To make this Kate Spade inspired party even more fun I styled a fabulous bar cart set up under a show-stopping, giant, pink heart marquee. Bar carts are a big home decor trend and they are so fun to incorporate into your party. Add some fresh flowers, a few bottles of liquor, and some common household decor items like coffee table books and a cute clock. Don’t forget to top it off with some treats that taste as good as they look and you got yourself a party! Cheers!
