As you know, here at Best Friends For Frosting, we love to celebrate the every day! We are so thrilled to be featuring Anna Young of Dogwood Brides and their fabulous launch party! From gorgeous photo back-drops to stunning cakes, the launch party was an absolute hit! Here is Anna on how she styled this remarkable night:
We wanted to do something to celebrate the launch of Dogwood Brides as well as thank all of the vendors and friends who helped us along the way. We hoped the party would be a great opportunity for everyone to share in the excitement, but also for us to meet local area vendors and provide an opportunity for them to network with one another.
Bonnie’s good college friends are part of The Darling Event and The Proper Petal. We worked with their teams to discuss the vision and inspiration for the day. We wanted the design of the launch to showcase the talents of all the vendors involved.
In meeting with The Darling Event and The Proper Petal, we discussed a few options for the color scheme, details, etc., and landed on the idea of something sweet and “home grown” since that is the vibe of Dogwood Brides. The Darling Event really wanted to showcase our brand and ensure that our logos and photos were found in almost every detail – from the food, the gallery wall, to the name tags, it felt very “Virginia” and highlighted our awesome brand by Evelyn Henson.
The stunning flower wall was the highlight of the decor! The Proper Petal did an absolutely amazing job selecting the flowers and placement of each one on the wall. It was a jaw-dropping addition and served as an excellent background for photos! They used extra sticky scotch tape covered by gold washi tape to adhere the flowers to the wall. In front of the wall were two antique chairs supplied by Paisley & Jade which added an additional great spot for photos and relaxing during the party.
Another centerpiece of the event was the gallery wall above the bar. The Darling Event was able to capture our brand through framing pictures of our different logos as well as our head shots. The Proper Petal also added a “D” and “B” made from flowers as the focal point of the wall. The Darling Event encouraged us to have a “signature drink” which ended up being a delicious sparkling white sangria garnished with a skewer of blackberries, pink sugar around the rim, and black striped straws as an additional pop. The drink was a huge hit!
Laura from The Buttercream Bee made a DELICIOUS naked cake for us which was garnished with beautiful live blooms from The Proper Petal. Also on the cake table were Virginia-shaped name tags with names in calligraphy by Sincerely Amy Designs. We used gold safety pins and washi tape to secure the name tags.
The party food was another great selection by The Darling Event. The menu included: chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches wrapped in craft paper and tied with baker’s twine and then secured with a circular sticker featuring one of our logo, cucumber bites topped with hummus, feta, and rosemary, spinach and artichoke dip with pita chips, melon (cantaloupe) and prosciutto skewers, and single serving cups of homemade pasta salad. The Darling Event wanted to make sure everything we offered was easy to pick-up and take small portions which worked out great in combination with all of the networking.
We also offered a bag of confetti in our colors of white, gold, and shades of peach and coral as a favor. The bags each had a label with our logo tied to it and on the back it read “because you can never have enough confetti”.
