Carnival Bridal Shower

Nothing quite says celebration like a carnival! We’re literally ticked pink over this fanciful cosmo carnival bridal shower put together by Melissa Baum Events. What a unique way to celebrate a bride-to-be! From ferris wheel to cotton candy, the details really give off the vibe of a summer fair!  Meanwhile, the color palette maintains a look of feminine grace, with light purples and pinks (no bright neon lights at this carnival!). From games to the best snacks and candy around, we love how Melissa adapted some of the most notable aspects of a carnival to fit seamlessly into this bridal shower. The key is to balance the quirkiness of a carnival with the expected girliness of a bridal shower. We think she totally nailed it!

Here is Melissa Baum on her vision and execution on this super fun theme: “Bridal showers are always the perfect opportunity to throw that super girly party that no man would ever approve of. When designing this bridal shower, the inspiration words I kept playing with were girly & whimsical. Carnivals with their fun food, gigantic ferris wheels, & summer weather are the definition of whimsical and include so many elements that make for a great party theme. Making these elements feminine but sophisticated with a color palette of pink, purple, black, & white, made it appropriate for a bride-to-be!

Like all carnivals, the food is one of the most memorable and quintessential aspects of it. We presented your classic corn dog, hamburger, french fries, & popcorn on individual lunch-style trays, complete with a bottle of Coca Cola. For the dessert table, we were inspired by carnival games and featured a donut ring toss, tic tac toe macarons, & a kissing booth cake complete with an XO. And of course, we couldn’t forget cotton candy! Spun on custom black & white cones and finished with edible gold glitter, this was not your average cotton candy.

The shower was complete with a pink, purple, & gold tablescape, adorned with carousel inspired menus for each place setting. Guests discovered fun facts about the bride on a golden ferris wheel and were welcome to candy on a spinning carousel.”
