How to Decorate an Office

Raise your hand if you work from home?! Or, you just need a few cute, fun pieces to give your nine-to-five space a face-lift! Whether you own a business, you have an at-home office, or you go into the office every day, it is so important to have a space that you absolutely love to work in! Not only does your office reflect you and your work, but it will always put you in the right mindset to tackle the next thing on your to-do list!

When we bought our mid-century modern home, I knew I needed to turn one of the rooms into an office. I needed my own BFFF space for sure! From the rug to the shelving to even the tape dispenser, I hand-selected each item that would make me happy! It’s seriously amazing how much better you can feel in a space, and how much more productive you can be, if you LOVE where you are! For me, each item in my office had to make me smile, and I encourage you to do the same as well. My office has definitely become one of my favorite rooms in the house, so I put together a list of my favorite things that I hope will inspire you as much as they do for me!

items for office

1. Contemporary Office Chair

Having a good chair was one of my major home office necessities, and this Contemporary Office Chair was the ideal fit. It is cute yet so comfy, which is so important! Exactly what I needed for tackling work from home!

2. Area Rug

One of the decor items I knew I needed for my office was an Area Rug. I wanted something that added color and texture to the space, and it even makes my office look bigger! I love mine because it is also super soft and comfy to walk on! Win-win!

3. Table Lamp

Another office necessity that people forget about is a great lamp. You can’t run your business if you don’t have good light! It can seriously change the whole room. This table lamp is not only cute, but allows there to be a lot of light spilling out in the room.

4. Acrylic Storage Box

To keep myself organized, I use this Acrylic Storage Box, and it allows me to be so on top of things! It is not only super cute, but I am able to store a lot in it so my desk can remain clear! ;) SO helpful when trying to keep things stress free!

5. Tape Dispenser

Out of all the office staples, having a cute tape dispenser is crucial! You never know when you’ll need it! ;) This one has a modern style that added such a special touch to my desk.

6. Burlap Bulletin Board

For me, working from home means having so many ideas come and go from my mind since I go between taking care of the kids and taking care of business. So this Burlap Bulletin Board was the perfect addition to my office! I absolutely love that it is a bigger size so I can pin up as many ideas and notes as I need! ;)

7. Scented Candles

This is one of my favorite additions in my office. If you are like me, there is nothing better than having some scented candles around. Keep a few cute candles to light when you need a beautiful scent to calm you down or even as an uplifter!

8. Table Lamp

I know, I know. Lamps are on this list twice. But it is SO important to have a good light to work with! I love having a few lamps around. The light keeps my creative juices flowing! Plus, you can’t have too many cute table lamps. ;)

9. Tabletop Label Maker

Keeping organized and getting rid of clutter is such a must for a clear mind. Having a Tabletop Label Maker is my secret weapon! It is small so it fits on my desk perfectly, and I use it all the time to keep my business and myself as organized as possible!
