Summer is officially in full swing, and that means hot days and cool drinks. Summer means bright, fun colors, plenty of sunshine, and a lot of great outdoor parties. And what better way to style a summertime party than with flamingos as your inspiration! Today we’re thrilled to have Denell Pepin of Mopa Living showing us everything we’ll need to style and host a fabulous flamingo party! Here’s what she has to say:
A pink flamingo can bring a smile to anyone’s face, and right now we are at the height of a major tropical trend. Good enough reason to host a Flamingo Party? We think so!
The best part about hosting a Flamingo Party is that you can really go for it, or simply use it as inspiration to create a happy summer spread – either way, you’ll be in for a good time. Here’s some basic and inspired party supplies to serve as inspiration as you’re planning your own summertime Flamingo Party!
If you don’t have one already, now is the time. Not only do they make for a great party mascot, but if you add one to your lawn, your whole community will thank you!
Super cute gingham check napkins that have a picnic feel to them work here when placed with the other party elements. Geometric plates from the dollar bin add even more color. Add simple stacked glasses for party drinks!
If you’re at a Flamingo Party, it’s standard fare, and the most appropriate way to greet your guests. Grab a handful of colorful leis to pass out to all attendees!
It’s not a party without food! I always call my favorite bakery for a special order of macarons to match my party theme. I also added in these classic colored button candies to match – love these!
I found basic cardboard tubes and fashioned them with coordinating prints. Who doesn’t love a little pattern play? Fill with treats and everyone goes home happy.
Iconic Drink Stirrer, Colored Straws, and Oversized Gem Confetti are just a few more details to set the scene – all optional, but fantastic.
Stock and Save! When the price is right, stock and save. Each party element here can work in, or outside the Flamingo theme. Since most items were on sale or found in dollar bins, buy in bulk and repurpose all summer long – think picnics, backyard BBQ, fun napkins for the lunch box and a fully stocked and festive bar cart for the season!
