I have been counting down the days until I could FINALLY announce this new interior design project with you guys and today is the day! Lately, I have been knee deep in our home renovations (check out my Instagram stories for all the crazy updates!) Just when I thought I couldn’t get more obsessed with all things interior design and room decor, this opportunity came knocking at my door – literally ;)
With all of the home renovations and interior design projects we already have going for 2018, a new partnership with CORT Clearance Center seemed like such a natural fit. I couldn’t be more excited! For those of you who don’t know, CORT Furniture Clearance Center is an amazing brand that focuses on selling and renting upscale furniture at a greatly discounted rate. It’s absolutely perfect for students, people going through a life change like a job relocation, divorce, home staging, or so much more!
I’ve already been putting CORT Furniture Clearance Center to the test with some recent home renovations and an exciting new project I’m working on with my parents this year. For long time BFFF readers, you know I’ve been really interested in interior design and architecture for seriously as long as I can remember.
Throughout my childhood, my parents invested in real estate so I spent plennttyyyyy of weekends touring open houses, scraping down old wallpaper, ripping out old carpet, and plenty of other DIY projects. I definitely caught the interior design bug early! ;)
My parents have always had a love for fixing up houses. Basically they were Chip & Joanna Gaines before it was even a thing! Now in recent years, and with the incredible invention of Airbnb, my parents have been able to channel their love of home renovations in a totally new way. Last year they opened up their first Airbnb and have now started work on their second one. But this time I get to help :)
The property we’re working on is a beautiful house that my parents have used as a rental property in the upper Land Park neighborhood in Sacramento, California. The home is so bright and airy with lots of windows, incredible arched entryways, and a charming aesthetic overall. It’s honestly such a great space, it just needs a little interior face lift! Andy and I actually lived in this house for 2 years when I was 19, so the property is very special to us. It also makes the process of updating the property all the more meaningful.
Already this interior design project has been so amazing! As an adult, it’s been so much fun to work with my parents on such a familiar process. Plus, I’ve been so excited to give this house a real life touch of BFFF and actually extend the brand into a living space. I truly want this Airbnb to reflect the BFFF brand! I am especially excited because many of the style ideas I want to try are things I wouldn’t get away with at home with Andy. ;)
For the overall decor, I’ve been trying to decide between a Palm Springs Style or playing out my real love for a chic / traditional / farmhouse aesthetic. So hard to decide! At the moment, I may or may not be thinking about painting the front door pink, blue or black…. I haven’t decided ;)
With all these options and ideas, CORT Furniture Clearance Center just seemed like a natural fit for this project. There is so much stress that comes with decorating a house, that I knew I needed a place with plenty of options on demand. Last week, Andy I went to the CORT Furniture Clearance Center location in Sacramento and met with the District Manager. I was so amazed and impressed with the originality of CORT! I learned all about their intense sanitation process and how they source in mass quantities of products by the truck load. Not to mention ALL of the choices! There were tons of choices for everything from bedside tables to bookshelves. We honestly got lost in there for hours just thinking of all the different possibilities! Creative overload ;)
Today I am so excited to share a quick roundup of the pieces we ordered from CORT for the Airbnb. There are a few pieces I plan to upcycle which I am over the moon excited about!
This Blanca Accent Chair was one of the first things we stumbled across and I had to have it! I’m such a sucker for a good accent chair. ;) The white and subtle lines of it make it a great fit for the house. I could totally picture the guests curling up with a good book or relaxing with some TV after a long day of exploring Sacramento.
Secretly though, I picked this chair because I knew it would compliment this Greyson Sofa. I am obsessed with this sofa! I have been seeing it trend ALL over Pinterest and I was so excited to see that CORT had this exact sofa in stock. All of that time pinning has finally paid off ;) It will be perfect to tie the living room space together. Because it will be an Airbnb, I wanted to make sure not to get a couch with any white shades of fabric that could easily be stained.
To finish off the living room, I am particularly excited to upcycle this TV Stand! It’s already such a great and functional piece with plenty of room to hold DVDs, books, and fun little decor pieces. With a little creativity it’s going to be the perfect piece. My mind is seriously spinning with so many options!
Of course, the perfect TV stand has to have the perfect TV right? I am kicking myself over this deal. I wish we would have known about it before we literally just bought a new TV for our living room. Timing really is everything isn’t it ;) But either way you seriously can’t beat this price for a TV!
For the bedrooms, this nightstand was an instant yes. I loooooove this nightstand! I considered ordering an extra one for Charlie’s room and my mom couldn’t stop raving about it! It was the #1 piece she was most excited about and definitely fit that beach feeling I’ve been so obsessed with!
I’ve also been toying with adding this bookshelf to one of the bedrooms. At the moment though, I’m also torn between adding it to the kitchen instead. With a little upcycling it could honestly work in either room, I’m just stuck on the decision. What do you guys think??
Those are just a few of the pieces we walked away with and I can’t wait to show you the finished upcycled projects! As I’ve run this blog for the past 7 years, I’ve found that my interests and passions are always shifting and changing. It’s funny that I’ve come full circle back to a childhood favorite! I can’t wait now to use the blog as a platform to update you guys on the whole project. I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop with updates, room reveals, a few of the CORT pieces that we’ve upcycled and how CORT has worked to make this process less stressful!
For those of you still wondering about our personal home renovations – don’t worry! Most of the big reveals will be coming your way in the next few months. Andy and I have already decided that 2018 is the year of home renovations! So stay tuned! In the meantime, if you see any other great pieces trending on CORT or accessories you would love to see in the space, don’t be shy and leave me a comment to share!!
