Lunchbox Ideas

It’s hard to believe that we’re starting to think about the 2021 school year over here. How did that happen so fast?! Anyone else shocked by it?! It’s just about time to start thinking about return to school supplies and, my favorite, lunches! And while the school year might look a bit different than we’re used to, I am still all about making lunches fun for the kids!

I’ve always been obsessed with the idea of making lunches special for Charlie and Claire. Whether it’s a fun shape for a sandwich or snack, surprising the kids with their favorite foods, or including a fun note or printable, it’s always been so important to me to put together lunches that brighten their day. My mom always used to do that for me growing up, and it’s been such an important tradition for me to carry on with Charlie and Claire!

If you know me and how obsessed I am with Target, then you can probably guess it’s where I shop for everything I need for lunches for the kids! It’s so easy to find everything to craft fun lunches, including their favorite foods and even supplies like stickers, gel pens, and fun paper for sweet notes.

Heart-Shaped Sandwiches

Part of putting together a fun lunch for Claire has been making sure it’s a balanced meal, and my new favorite way of making it special is to add mini heart-shaped sandwiches! It’s such a special touch that makes her grin from ear to ear and literally only takes me a few extra minutes! You just need a heart-shaped cookie cutter, and you can cut out cute shapes to make sandwiches extra special!

Lately the kids have been absolutely obsessed with Danimals Pouches, so I’ve been including those as well! Danimals are such a great snack to include with the rest of lunch and Claire absolutely loves the strawberry flavor. Plus, they’re wonderful for at-home lunches or on the go in a pinch! They’re super convenient and add some fun. I love to pair a Danimals Pouch with hummus with broccoli and peppers, raspberries, the mini sandwiches, and NABISCO Multipack Snacks. NABISCO Multipacks give you a variety to choose from so you can switch it up all week long. And the best part is that everything is easily portable so it’s perfect for having lunch at school, at home, or even as a picnic at the park. It’s so fun to dress up their lunches for any occasion!

We’re not sure what school is going to look like next year just yet, but this mama bear is definitely prepared! I’ve been having so much fun putting together balanced lunches and dressing them up in ways that make them truly special for the kids! What’s your favorite way to pack your kid’s lunch?
