Crostini Bar
It’s no secret that we here at Best Friends For Frosting we love to entertain! We all enjoy having our friends and family over for any occasion possible, even if it’s just to catch up. Jessica Potts of A Happy Food Dance is sharing her secret to successful entertaining with us: the crostini bar. It not only looks impressive, but it is a great way to have a variety of options for your guests to choose from! Check out Jessica’s tips and recipe below:
“My favorite way to spend the weekend is with a glass of wine in one hand and an endless snack bar to graze on while hanging with friends and family. I love entertaining and having people over for food and drinks. My favorite thing is to make up a big batch of margaritas or sangria, something that is easy and can be made ahead, and then to set up a snack bar. And lately, I’ve been all about the crostini bar!
It’s so easy to create and it has all of my favorite things. Fresh vegetables, dips, cheeses, fruit and crusty bread! And a crostini bar really takes your snacking up a notch – seriously, your friends will be SO impressed! I just grab a couple baguettes of bread from the store – this can be a classic French, fragrant sourdough, or even a crunchy multi-grain – and I just toast it in the oven.
Then I make up a couple dips, set out a cheese or two, and sprinkle in fresh herbs and even a plate of sliced prosciutto, salami and capicola. In this particular spread I’ve done a nice grilled corn, balsamic glazed red onions (my FAV), a watermelon-mint-capers trio, and an avocado-feta smear. These are all incredibly easy to whip up, perfect to snack on throughout your soirée, and just flat out fun!”
