Summer Grilling Ideas
Summer is almost here! Are you ready?! Fun in the sun is an absolute favorite in our house, and summertime definitely means nights eating outside! Which is exactly why these Hawaiian Teriyaki Burgers are my new favorite! This recipe is a must-have in any griller’s toolbox, for sure, and we’re kicking off Memorial Day Weekend around here by making it again! The sweetness of the teriyaki flavor paired with pineapple makes this burger a favorite for the entire family. Seriously, Charlie and Claire LOVE these! And honestly, I’m craving another one right now as I type this. ;) With the official kick off to summer right around the corner, be sure to keep this recipe on hand when you fire up the grill!
For Memorial Day Weekend this year, we’re throwing the party at our house! I’m so excited to break out the grill again and grill all of our favorites! We got our new Nexgrill from The Home Depot, and we’ve been trying out all of our favorite grilled recipes on it. The Nexgrill is a brand new product and it’s totally exclusive to The Home Depot. Plus, they do free delivery for online purchases and even free assembly for in-store purchases. It’s super simple! We’re pretty obsessed!
Ground Pork Burgers
To make these Hawaiian Burgers you will need a couple of simple ingredients. First, for this recipe, you’ll need 2 pounds of ground pork, which you’ll mix with garlic, ginger and Worcestershire sauce. You’ll also need to grab pineapple rings, onion, butter lettuce, cilantro, mayo, teriyaki sauce, and don’t forget your favorite burger buns!
How to Make Burgers
The first thing you’ll want to do is preheat the Nexgrill to medium-high. Once you have all your ingredients, next comes the fun part, mixing! You’ll want to grab a large bowl, and then use a fork or your hands to mix the pork, garlic, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, and salt until combined, but don’t over mix! From the mix, form 8 equal patties and get grilling! Pro tip: make a slight indentation in the middle of each patty to help the burgers from bulging in the middle.
How to Grill Burgers
After all the patties have been formed and the Nexgrill is at the right temperature, place patties on the grill and cook them for about 5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. While they’re cooking, baste each side with the teriyaki sauce! Finally, brush the pineapple and onion slices with cooking oil and put slices on the grill for a few minutes on each side to caramelize them. So so good!
Last but not least, put the pork burgers together to make the ultimate Hawaiian Burger! Place the buns face down on the grill and let them sit for a couple minutes to get that light brown toasted color. After toasted, spread mayo on the buns and put a layer of lettuce on the bottom bun. Then, place burgers on the buns and brush or drizzle teriyaki sauce on the burgers. Finally, top each burger with grilled onions and pineapple, garnish with cilantro, and serve! That’s it!

This recipe is so fun for summer grilling and the perfect kick-off to Memorial Day Weekend!
