Some think that when a birthday rolls around, it’s the end of having fun, especially at an “older age.” Well, we think not! The fun doesn’t stop when you reach a certain age- it get’s better! Jaleh of JEvents Planning & Design shows us how to throw an amazing 30th birthday with the inspiration of one of her favorite designers (and ours!) – Kate Spade. With the perfect inspiration, comes the perfect party! Here at Best Friends For Frosting, we love all of the chic designs and patterns of Kate Spade.  From hashtag cookies to a multilayer fabulous cake, Jaleh makes turning 30 look fun! See how Jalah uses her event planning background and design inspiration to make a totally fab birthday party:

As an event planner and stylist, having a theme for my parties is essential. Being a fan of Kate Spade’s designs, colors and, patterns, made it so easy to pick a theme for my 30th birthday party.

I am a lover of mixing the old with the new. I found the bar cart at a vintage store along with the white candle holders and chose to give them a different function such as a desert table, love ball, and champagne holders. To create a bit of excitement and contrast, I used a black and white striped fabric as a backdrop. Layering, repetition, and grouping are some of the principles of design that I used here to showcase each element as unique as they’re created.

“Stripes & Polka dots” it is, I said to myself one day and I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. From designing my own outfit and having a talented mama to sew it, to the most beautiful cake, it was all perfect. With my fancy frilled and confetti balloons, cookies, cupcakes, and champagne, I was surrounded by whites, golds, and blacks, with hints of pink, stripes, and polka dots. Not to mention that my hundred and twenty guests were also dressed in the same patterns.

LOVE is also another significant element in my events so having the love ball made my birthday shoot complete.
