Are you looking for bedroom design ideas? Or maybe you just need a little bedroom makeover? Decorating a bedroom can be tough, but finding pieces that you absolutely LOVE can make all the difference! If you’re looking for the perfect inspiration for your bedroom refresh, this is for you!
Calling all interior design lovers! Or, at least those of us who want a quick and easy way to refresh a room?! ;) After we bought our mid-century modern home two years ago, I was so quick to fix up every room. We redid the living room, my office, Charlie’s room, and the kitchen, and then we even tackled the guest bathroom and the master bathroom, but I totally put our bedroom makeover on the back-burner – probably because no one ever goes in your bedroom. It was kind of an after-thought for a while, but I finally decided it was definitely time for a refresh!
As you probably figured out by now, my style is very coastal, beachy, light and airy. Light and airy is the way to go for me with so many things! It makes me so happy! I always say that your space should be a representation of you and what makes you happy, and I was so excited to finally tackle our bedroom to make it feel just as good as the rest of our home.
The first piece of the puzzle I wanted to tackle was swapping out artwork! I was looking for bright, airy pieces to decorate with, but finding items for your bedroom can be so hard. Thankfully my friend Bria from Brooke & Lou helped me with the perfect solution! If you know me, then you know my Lilly Pulitizer obsession, which is why I’m drawn to Brooke & Lou’s pieces so much! The artist, Abbey Holden, used to be a print designer for Lilly Pullitzer, and she worked with Bria on designing artwork, wallpaper and fabric prints.
Brooke & Lou launched in 2018, named after Bria’s two young children, with the goal of providing Life Friendly home decor for people. And with two young kids running around myself, I’m so thankful. The Life Friendly pieces are designed to stand up to real life, whether it’s juice that spilled or ketchup from the kids or dirt from pets. Talk about a win-win!
I ended up incorporating this Between the Lines in Pink piece to set the tone for the rest of the room. It made for the perfect statement in decorating a bright and airy room. And so far, it’s been a hit! Ever since we hung the piece, Claire has been begging for it to be in her room. She must get her love of pink from her mom! ;) She literally cried when we put it on our wall, so we may just be moving it to her room later on… to be continued!
Master Bedroom Remodel Ideas
Redoing a room doesn’t have to be super expensive or take a ton of time. Seriously! It’s amazing what a few staple pieces can do to a room. I’m all about effortless! As I started looking for inspiration, I found so many cute ideas from Serena & Lily! I ended up doing a total refresh for the bed, ordering the Cavallo Linen Duvet Cover in Blue Chambray for that fun beachy vibe! The duvet cover is super light and soft, but it’s also crazy durable which is so important. Especially in sunny Sacramento, it’s so important to have something comfy that’s also light and breathable so it doesn’t get too hot!
Bedroom Remodel Ideas
I love letting natural light in our room, and I wanted all of the throw pillows to match that same vibe! I ended up ordering a bunch of throw pillow options to create a layered look. I started with base pillows that both Andy and I loved and then incorporated light and airy colors like sand and light pink! I used two textured pillows, the Perennials Performance Pillow and Sevilla Pillow Cover as the base, and I am in love! And bonus, these pillows are both stain-resistant and super easy to wash! Then, I included this Lucia Pillow in light pink to add such a cute pattern to the mix!
Bedroom Refresh Ideas
Making my bedroom a space that I absolutely love was important to me. This house remodel was crazy long, and I left the master bedroom until the end because I didn’t think it mattered much. But now having all of these pieces, I LOVE my bedroom and don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner! It is so simple to make a place your own and an area you love going to.
