I recently hosted a Mommy and Me Brunch to celebrate motherhood and the friendship mothers share with their little girls. Simply stated, the vision for this party was everything that inspires me personally all rolled into one. I’m a lover of pink, delicate flowers, pretty dresses, champagne, delicious food, and personal details.

When deciding on a location, my neighbor graciously offered to host the party in her beautiful white kitchen and dining area, which provided a blank canvas to decorate. I transformed the space with dip dyed tassels, jumbo balloons, lace linens, and lush garden rose floral arrangements. The table was set with dip dyed napkins, clear chargers, vintage china, and hand lettered macaron placecards.

There was an array of brunch appropriate food, such as fruit pizza, mini pancakes, and asparagus quiche, all of which were homemade by my neighbor and I. The sweets included a white raspberry cake, macarons, strawberry champagne marshmallows, pink cupcakes, and glazed donuts. Of course no brunch is complete without mimosas, so I set up a bar cart with champagne, fresh fruit, and juices. I also placed satin sleep mask favors on the bar cart for each guest to take home.

One of my favorite details from the party was the hand lettered table runner with lyrics from the song “She’s Somebody’s Hero.” The song serves as a gentle reminder that although the everyday aspects of being a mother may seem perfectly average and far from glamorous, each mom is a hero in the eyes of her child for simply doing what comes natural and giving them love.

During the brunch, the little girls took turns having their picture taken in their “fancy” dresses in a photobooth area. Many heartfelt moments between moms and their daughters were captured on camera too.

The brunch was a wonderful morning spent celebrating motherhood and creating memories with an amazing group of ladies and little ladies. So many of the details of this party, such as the menu, hand written paper table runner, florals, or dresses could easily serve as Mother’s Day Brunch inspiration. Just find what inspires you, incorporate meaningful details, and remember to keep the focus on what is most important, which is enjoying the day with your family and friends!
