If you’ve been searching for the perfect, easy breakfast recipe, then this smoothie bowl recipe is for you! :) If you’re anything like me, finding easy breakfast recipes is a total struggle! Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but whipping up a full breakfast buffet isn’t exactly easy! With two kids, the mornings around here are usually pretty crazy! I’m lucky if I grab so much as a protein bar on my way out the door! In the past few weeks though, I’ve been really focusing on creating fast and easy breakfast recipes. After experimenting with different breakfast recipes, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this smoothie bowl! It’s quick, healthy, inexpensive, and even lactose intolerance friendly! :)
 

 

Finding The Best Breakfast Recipes

When Andy and I first started sifting through breakfast recipes, our main priority was convenience. We tried tons of bake-ahead casseroles, pastries, and other concoctions. Many of our breakfast recipes ended up being plenty tasty and convenient, but still weren’t perfect. By early afternoon, Andy and I both ended up feeling sluggish, hungry, or both. We both work from home, so between organizing photoshoots, writing blog posts, and every other task, having a breakfast that can keep up is important. We’re also both really trying to eat healthy, so we have plenty of energy for the day and can bring our best selves to the table every morning. Plus as parents, it’s important to know that we’re providing a healthy breakfast the kids will actually enjoy. Such an easy task right?!
 

 

My New Favorite Breakfast Recipe

The more and more I searched for the best breakfast recipes, the more recipes I kept finding for smoothie bowls. I’ve tried several smoothie bowls out at restaurants or in pre-made versions, but never actually made one myself. So, I partnered with Clover Sonoma to create the ultimate breakfast. I also blend in a full chopped up banana to sneak in a whole other serving of fruit without anyone noticing. ;) All of the fiber and some protein in bananas helps keep me feeling full throughout the morning and I love the added banana flavor!

 

 

Perfect Lactose Intolerance Breakfast Recipe

When I was initially searching through smoothie bowl recipes, I was amazed with some of the ingredients. So many of these recipes called for tons of, whipping cream, and even a few with half and half. I was definitely not interested in any of those options! Adding On The Smoothie Bowl Toppings

Once you’ve blended together all of your fruit, Clover Sonoma Non-GMO Lactose Free milk, and other ingredients, you’re ready for toppings! With this smoothie bowl, you can go as crazy as you want! Add one of the toppings, a combination, or eat it simply as it is! Of course, my favorite variation on this breakfast recipe is to add all of the toppings together. ;) For this smoothie bowl, I chose pomegranate seeds, chia seeds, and rolled oats for some added texture – it’s all about the texture, right?! Not only are they super tasty, but these ingredients are basically healthy secret weapons! Pomegranate seeds are full of antioxidants and chia seeds are loaded with healthy Omega-3s. Even more reason to pile them on to this smoothie bowl! I can’t ever resist a slight drizzle of honey to finish the whole thing off! It’s the perfect added sweetness. For a little extra boost to the smoothie bowl recipe, you can also add some chopped almonds or more apple slices too!

Ingredients

Instructions

Step 1: Add the strawberries, banana, apple, rolled oats, chia seeds, honey, ice, and Clover Sonoma Non-GMO Lactose Free Milk into a large blender.

Step 2: Pulse to combine the ingredients until the smoothie reaches a creamy consistency.

Step 3: Pour finished smoothie into a large bowl

Step 4: Top with a handful of pomegranate seeds, rolled oats, chia seeds, almonds, and apple slices. Drizzle with honey.
