On a rectangular plate or cutting board start by creating a square in the left corner out of blueberries.
To the left of the blueberry square, create a row of sliced tomatoes on the top of the plate, overlapping each slice by about half to three-quarters of the way as you go.
Below the tomatoes, layer pre-sliced mozzarella the same way to create a horizontal line. Alternating the cheese and tomatoes, create one line of each to finish the flag.
Using a small star cookie cutter, cut out about 6–7 stars from the leftover slices of mozzarella, then place the stars on top of the blueberries.
Serve with toasted crostini, balsamic dressing, and fresh basil.
To make crostini, layer a few slices of tomatoes sprinkled with kosher salt and pepper, mozzarella, a spoonful of balsamic dressing, and fresh basil.
