Equipment
large baking sheet
Parchment Paper
Ingredients
1 1/2-2sleeves of saltine crackers
1cup butter
1cuplight brown sugar
11.5 ozpackage chocolate chips
Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Add saltine crackers into a single layer on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Make sure they are touching each other. We used about 1 1/2 sleeves of saltine crackers (48 crackers), six rows wide and eight rows long.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the brown sugar. Stirring consistently, bring the mixture to a soft boil until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken, about 5 minutes.
Distribute the mixture evenly over the crackers, then spread it with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with all of the chocolate chips. Let the chocolate chips sit for a few minutes until melty, and then evenly spread them into a thin layer. If the chocolate chips are still not melted, please make sure to place them in the oven for an additional 30 seconds to soften. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate chips, as they will seize up and harden, making them impossible to spread.
Evenly sprinkle with your favorite Christmas sprinkles.
Cool for a few hours to overnight in the fridge. Peel off the parchment paper from the back of the Christmas crack and break apart with your hands or cut with a knife. I prefer to keep the Christmas Crack refrigerated before serving, but this is totally optional.

Notes
• When you place the saltine crackers in a single layer, make sure they touch.• When pouring the toffee mixture over the crackers, use a spatula to spread it evenly.• If your chocolate chips don’t fully melt, pop the pan back in the oven for 30 seconds. Just be careful not to overheat them, or the chocolate can seize.• Once set, break the candy apart with your hands or cut it into pieces with a knife.
