1 containeryellow frosting 15oz vanilla frosting and yellow food coloring may be used as a substitute
1 1/2 cupsshredded sweetened coconut
3-4dropsyellow food coloring
3-4candy orange slices
24mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Line the cupcake tin with liners.
In a large bowl, make cake batter according to the packages instructions.
Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full of batter.
Bake the cupcakes in the oven according to the packages instructions.
While cupcakes bake, in a large Ziploc bag add coconut and a few drops of yellow food coloring. Seal the bag and shake vigorously to combine. If coconut is not yellow enough add additional food coloring.
Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let cool. Once cooled, frost with yellow frosting.
Add yellow coconut to a plate and spread into an even layer. Press each frosted cupcake into the coconut to coat.
Using a paring knife, slice small triangles out of candy orange slices to create the beaks for the chicks.
Place an orange candy beak and two mini chocolate chips on each cupcake to create the chicks face.
