This cozy Baked Oatmeal is an easy breakfast that's perfect for busy mornings. It's made with simple pantry staples and bakes up soft, warm, and full of cinnamon flavor.

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Grease a 8-inch square baking dish with cooking oil or cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the oats and the white sugar.
In a medium bowl, combine the milk, egg, vanilla, and cinnamon and mix well.
Add to the oat mixture and mix until combined.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish then bake for 45 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with brown sugar. Using a spoon or spatula spread the sugar into a thin layer.
Broil in the oven for 2 minutes, or until the sugar browns slightly.
Notes:
Baked oatmeal creates a perfect base for additional mix-ins or toppings. Mix in blueberries, chocolate chips, etc. before baking.
Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on top of the baked oatmeal after baking, or serve with maple syrup, get creative!
We prefer quick oats for this recipe as they are more creamy/custardy. If you prefer a more textured oatmeal old fashioned oats are better suited.
