2sticks butterroom temperature
6-8cupspowdered sugar
1/3cupwhole milk
1/2cuppumpkin puree
1teaspoonpumpkin pie spice
Instructions
Add the room-temperature butter to a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat on high for about 4 minutes, scraping down the bowl as needed, until light and fluffy.
Add 6 cups powdered sugar, milk, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix on low for 30 seconds, then increase the speed and beat until smooth.
Add additional powdered sugar as needed until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
Chill the frosting until firm enough to pipe or spread onto completely cooled cupcakes or cake.
Frost as desired and sprinkle with additional pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
Notes
Start with 6 cups of powdered sugar and add more as needed for a thicker frosting.
Because pumpkin puree adds moisture, chill the frosting before piping if it feels too soft.
