Fun Breakfast Ideas

Extra sprinkles?! Yes please! Whoโ€™s with me? Adding sprinkles to just about everything has always been one of my favorite things to do. Itโ€™s truly amazing how much of a difference a sprinkle of color on top of a cake, cupcakes, ice cream, and even pancakes can make. This just might be my new favorite breakfast idea, and Iโ€™m so excited to share it with you! Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or the everyday these pancakes are an instant mood uplifter!

Rainbow Pancakes

One of my all-time favorite traditions as a kid was making pancakes with my mom, and Iโ€™ve had so much fun bringing that same tradition into my own home. Every time my mom would pull the blue box of Krusteaz pancake mix out of the pantry, I just knew we were about to have some fun! And Iโ€™ve been having a blast doing the same at home with my kids, coming up with fun and unique ways to incorporate mix-ins and add toppings to our pancakes. This version with pancakes infused with rainbow sprinkles, topped with whipped cream, and decked out with even more sprinkles on top might just be my favorite one yet!

Ingredients for Pancakes

To make these pancakes, youโ€™ll need Krusteaz pancake mix, water, your favorite rainbow sprinkles, and whipped cream. Thatโ€™s it! I love using Krusteaz because of how easy it is to just pull the box out of the pantry, mix, and get cooking in a matter of minutes. Plus, the mix is free of artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. For these sprinkle pancakes, be sure you’re choosing rainbow jimmies sprinkles, rather than colorful sanding sugar or crystal sugar for best results!

How to Cook Pancakes

To cook the pancakes, start by heating your griddle to 375 degrees (or medium heat). Donโ€™t forget to lightly grease it! Once the griddle is up to temp, pour about ยผ cup of batter on the griddle for each pancake. Let the pancakes cook for 1 to 1 ยฝ minutes, and flip the pancakes once the tops start to bubble and the bottoms are golden. Thatโ€™s the best way to know your pancakes are ready! Once cooled, stack your pancakes, top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with even more rainbow sprinkles!
