This Caramel Apple Crisp is the warm holiday dessert you’ve been dreaming about. What could be better than flavorful apples, cinnamon, and caramel topped with delicious vanilla ice cream! You’ll definitely want to keep this recipe on repeat this holiday season with how easy it is to put together.

Perfect Party Recipe

Is there anything better than the smell of apples and cinnamon baking in the oven? You’re right, there isn’t! I know pumpkin pie is sometimes the fan favorite for the holidays, but after you taste Pazazz Apples baked into a perfect apple crisp, you’ll want to tell pumpkin you need a break! ;) Don’t get me wrong, you all know I love a good PSL, or big slice of pumpkin pie, but these apples are putting apple desserts at the top of my list this holiday season!

Holiday Dessert Recipe

I know you guys wanted to see more recipes on the blog, and I have the perfect one for you all to use for Christmas this year! This is seriously such an easy dessert to throw together, especially for the crazy busy moms like me. We all know a recipe that’s low stress is way better this time of year when we’re running against the holiday clock, but it has to be something that delivers big flavor! Introducing, this caramel apple crisp made with the delicious new Pazazz Apple! The star of this dessert is the Pazazz Apple, a new apple harvested later in the fall, which means we get to enjoy the crisp, fresh taste all the way into the winter months. That is something I can totally get behind because these apples make such a special snack or can be turned into the perfect dessert while entertaining! They have a great balance of crisp texture, combined with the juicy sweet, yet tart flavor of a Honeycrisp, making them the perfect addition for all of your holiday baking or entertaining platters! Plus, you can also turn them into a totally Pinterest-worthy dessert! ;)

Easy Apple Recipe

I can not stress how easy this recipe is and how delicious it is with these apples. For the topping, all you have to do is add flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a food processor (or use a fork if you don’t have one). Then add in the butter and combine until evenly distributed. Then add in the oats. For the delicious apple filling, melt your butter in a large pan over medium heat. Once melted combine the apple slices, brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt into the pan with the butter. Let this cook for about 8-10 minutes. Once the apples start to soften and become tender, remove from heat and stir in that delicious, gooey caramel sauce. Add your apple filling into a 9” deep pie dish, top with the oat topping and bake at 350ºF for 35 to 40 minutes. Your filling should be bubbling and the topping a nice golden, crispy brown! Serve with vanilla ice cream and extra caramel.

Your New Favorite Recipe

I know this dessert is going to be my new favorite to throw together for holiday parties, or even just weekends spent at home watching Hallmark movies. ;) So go ahead and wait until the morning before that Christmas party to make this dish. Trust me when I say everybody will be asking for this recipe this year.

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  • Topping: Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and salt in a food processor until uniform. Add in butter and pulse until evenly distributed throughout, then add oats and mix until combined.
  • Pazzaz Apple Filling: Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, apple slices and salt, stir to combine. Cook the apples for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until apples begin to soften. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup caramel sauce. Pour the apple filling into 9" pie dish and spread evenly. Apply topping over the apples and bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown. Cool for 30 minutes before serving. Top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel.
  • Tip: Put foil or a baking sheet under apple crisp when baking to avoid a mess in the oven.
