I am SO excited to (finally) share all the fun details from Charlie’s 7th birthday on BFFF! Cue the confetti!! Before I get into the details, I wanted to let you know that we collaborated with event stylists, The Confetti Pineapple, to share exclusive DIYs, recipes, and even more party details on Better Homes & Gardens!

It’s so crazy to think that back when I started this blog, Charlie was ONLY 6 months old. Fast forward 6 1/2 years later, and here we are all celebrating his 7th birthday together! When I started BFFF, I honestly had NO idea I would be doing this full time or let alone call this my “job.” At the time, it was just a hobby – I always had a love of entertaining and loved just bringing people together in a fun way. I have to admit, I’ve always been that girl who planned BOTH of my own baby showers and everything in-between. The older I get, the more I realize how important “in the moment living is.” That means taking more time to unplug and not getting lost in every single detail. ;) So, with all of that being said, for Charlie’s 7th birthday, I did something completely different than the norm and collaborated with an AMAZING local event planning agency – The Confetti Pineapple. We share the same design aesthetic, and I felt confident leaving the party in their hands. Their services range from creating custom event décor to styling tables to planning full-blown events of all sizes!

A table decorated for a first birthday party features an ocean-themed cake with coral and sea decorations. Blue tablecloths, a Charlie is 1 banner, and themed buckets complete the aquatic setup.

I had never worked with an event planning agency – but I have to admit, I was ecstatic for the opportunity. All I had to do was send a Pinterest board with inspiration, jot down some notes on my inspiration (regarding colors, themes, detail suggestions that came to mind, etc.) and they hit the ground running, creating their own vision. From styling ideas to designing original DIYs to recipes to making sure every detail was taken care of, this was the best party Charlie has ever had! I am so excited to share a re-cap with you guys on all the fun! P.S. How fun is this adorable tablescape and custom “Charlie is 7” fabric banner The Confetti Pineapple designed?!

A tiered ocean-themed cake features fondant sea creatures, including a shark and whale, with coral and seashell decorations. The cakes layers transition from sandy textures to deep blue waves, resting on a silver stand against a wave-patterned backdrop.

Our Kitchen Table made this fun custom beach party cake! Love how they incorporated some of Charlie’s favorites like sharks and whales. I am always a big fan of using graham crackers to imitate sand! Love how it tied into the party theme!

A tropical-themed setup with a large chair featuring banana leaf patterns. Blue and white balloons and wave-patterned fabric form the backdrop. Two blue side tables hold wrapped gifts and a megaphone. The text Whale of a Time is partially visible.

I have had my eye on this Palm Leaf Pool Float  Chair from SunnyLife for the longest time. The Confetti Pineapple designed this super fun lounge area for the kids, which included these stands from Hayneedle and these scalloped edge shower curtains from Target as a backdrop. They used fishing line to hang the balloons to give it a seamless look!

A beach-themed party table with blue and white wave backdrop. Buckets labeled Blue Coral, Driftwood, and Fish of the Sea hold snacks. Sea-themed cookies and decorations, like a shark cutout and coral, are displayed.

Using the Silhouette Cameo 3, The Confetti Pineapple customized these galvanized buckets and designed these cut outs at the snack table! The cookies from Our Kitchen Table were the cutest!

A vibrant birthday setup with teal and blue balloons in the background. A glass jar filled with blue candies holds a sign that reads Happy Birthday. The table is decorated with a teal lace-patterned covering.

Customized party signs for the photo booth not only made such a cute prop but were also a fun way to tie in the theme. Adding jelly beans to a clear vase was such a fun touch!

Three children in a nautical-themed setting. The boy on the left holds a megaphone, the boy in the middle sits on a palm-patterned chair with a whale plush, and the girl on the right sits cross-legged. Blue and white balloons and decor surround them.

You may recognize my niece and nephew (Toby and Paisley) who I pull in for all my photoshoots! These kinds of pictures make my mother in-law so happy!

Woman in a blue and white striped dress smiles while holding a tray with blue and white wrapped candies. She stands in front of a festive background with blue and white balloons and a scalloped pattern.

For party favors, The Confetti Pineapple took blue jelly beans from Jelly Belly and Goldfish crackers and put them in individual cellophane bags tied with nautical ribbons! SO easy yet stylish! Find the tutorial for this on Better Homes & Gardens. Have you seen the jelly beans that literally glisten and shine? These are it! P.S. Keep scrolling to see the other party favors we passed out. I’ll give you a hint – a Silhouette machine was used on them…

Two children at a nautical-themed party hold cutouts; one is a shark and the other a whale. The backdrop features blue wavy lines, and a table with ocean-themed decorations is in the background.

I was sure to communicate that Charlie LOVED all things nautical, ocean, and especially loved the whole J.Crew beach vibe. I feel like they captured that so right! The Confetti Pineapple designed these photo booth props out of paint, foamboard, and cardstock. Find the tutorial on Better Homes & Gardens. Charlie loved them so much that we ended up taking them home to decorate his room with. They were such a hit at the party!

Three paper plates featuring whale designs, each with a slice of pizza. Two slices are plain cheese pizza, and one slice has pepperoni. The white wooden table is lightly sprinkled with crumbs.

Charlie is a total Pizza Guys boy – the Hawaiian and Cheese are both his favorite! We ordered 10 boxes of pizza to share with his Kindergarten class. It was so easy how they delivered it straight to the pool, and it was hot and ready to eat! Obviously all of our guests were stoked! P.S. How cute are these plates from Cheeky?

Here they are! We’ve recently become obsessed with our Silhouette Machine. Do you have one? We customized individual buckets for each guest who celebrated with us. Yup, even the whale decals were made with the Silhouette Machine. Best thing ever!

Candy Skewers, Frosted Blue Popcorn “Blue Coral,” and Pretzel “Drift Wood” were all such fun ways to bring together the theme. Friends could not stop asking for the blue popcorn recipe. We’re also sharing it today over here, and I promise, you won’t want to miss it!

Seriously wishing I could give all of you one of these from the computer! ;)

This blue dream frothy punch is similar to the pink punch recipe we served at Claire’s baby shower. And surprise, surprise, you can also find the full recipe for this on Better Homes & Gardens. I’ll give you a hint –  we used these edible gold stars to sprinkle on top for fun! =)

I was so thrilled to work with The Confetti Pineapple and so happy with how Charlie’s party turned out! Their attention to detail and keen eye for cohesive design made the celebration extra special and memorable. If you are in need of event styling or planning expertise, these are your girls!! Wishing you all the happiest tail end of summer! I cannot believe how fast time is flying! P.S. Don’t forget to read the full post on Better Homes & Gardens for exclusive recipes and DIY tutorials!
