Holiday Dessert Table for QVC

Desserts, crafts, and entertaining are three of my favorite things.  Dessert tables are one of the most popular trends in the entertaining industry right now.   Not only do they make great photo opportunities, but they give you the perfect opportunity to communicate your overall theme to your guests.

I cannot even describe how much joy I experienced when styling this dessert table for QVC. It’s truly true, all of the desserts arranged on this table are from QVC’s holiday 2012 menu.  I have to admit, I loved how all of the desserts were already prepared, which allowed me to focus all of my attention on crafting and styling the table.  In this post, I will share tips on how I styled this holiday dessert table, as well as tips on how to serve each dessert with festive style.

I designed this festive holiday table using color choices and a theme that is diverse enough to use for all of the upcoming holidays.  My color pallet was gold, white, sea foam green, pastel turquoise, and silver.  Pictured above is a white plate which I stuck gold stickers on to serve Harry London Peanut Butter Buckeye’s. For the table I used white square plates to arrange all kinds of treats that make you think of winter holidays. Do you notice the white and pastel turquoise tier that the cake stand is sitting on top of? I re-used three boxes from the Cheryl’s Cookies and wrapped them with paper and glued a ribbon around them. To make the presents, I re-used other boxes that my desserts from QVC had arrived in. I wrapped them with brown postal paper then added ribbon and a festive gold bow. These boxes were so easy to dress up! I stacked and arranged gold and silver ornaments in clear vases and added gold glitter Christmas trees. I created a chevron backdrop with gold glitter paper from the craft store to complete the table.

Who’s ready to style desserts?  Below are a few fun examples showing easy ways to style desserts while using festive items from around the house.

Gourmet cookies with frosting on top are always safe to serve as a crowd-pleaser. I stacked and arranged these assorted holiday flavors from Cheryl’s Cookies to resemble cake on a cake stand.  I love how there was a variety of colors.

These Harry London Peanut Butter Buckeyes Lovers Special are always a holiday hit. To style them, I put them on a white plate and added festive accessories to tie in the winter theme. I put pine cones edged with gold glitter in a wooden strawberry basket and my DIY presents in the background.

I loved these Mrs.Prindable’s individual size CandyBar Apples.  The variety of flavors brought me to reminiscence about candy bars from my childhood  Christmas stocking.  To style the CandyBar Apples, I folded a piece of Washi tape on top of the stick and cut the edges in a ribbon-like shape.

I set it on a tree trunk coaster.  I also used glitter pine cones in wooden strawberry baskets in the background to give it a winter feel.  This is fun enough for children, while still being sophisticated enough for adults.

The holidays just wouldn’t be complete without a plate of fudge.  I served it with this gorgeous gold and white striped wooden spoon.  BigLittle Fudge Company from QVC has silly named flavors like Chubby Chunk A Lot, Big Softy, and Heavyweight Champ- and a slogan that says, “More Fruity Chunky Nutty than Aunt Mildred.” The company’s  humor shines right through their branding.

These square brownies from Cheryl’s were just asking to be wrapped up as presents with gold and white twine.  I just couldn’t bare to resist. The Harry London Truffles were in circular shapes and made a great addition to perfectly contrast the square shaped brownies.  Gold ornaments and light turquoise ribbon provided a festive way to dress up the table.
