Back to School Season

Back to school is truly one of the most special times of the whole year. Of course, I love holidays, but back to school is always such a fun time to celebrate around here! We recently threw a small “One Smart Cookie” themed party for Charlie and Claire to honor the occasion, and it included cute back to school themed treats such as a “smart” cookie, pencil cupcakes, and these apple pretzels!

Step 4: To melt the candy melts, pour the entire bag into a microwave-safe bowl. Put the bowl in the microwave and heat for 1 minute. Stir, and then continue to heat the bowl in 15 second intervals, stirring in between, until the candy is completely melted. Stir it once more before using.

Step 5: With the candy melted and ready, use tweezers to dip the mini pretzels in the coating one at a time. Once dipped, pull the pretzel out, allow the excess to drip off, and then place the pretzel on the parchment paper. Repeat this step with all of the pretzels.

Step 6: With the pretzels still wet, place a fondant leaf and stem on each of the pretzels, and then let them sit for 30 minutes to fully harden and set before serving.

Sweet and Salty Snack

Can you believe how easy these apple pretzels are? They’re the perfect way to get that crunch from the pretzel, plus the sweet candy taste. Talk about the best salty and sweet combo! I love dressing up easy treats like this for the kids for back to school and beyond. What are your back to school dessert or snack plans? Tell me all about it in the comments below!
