Grill Recipes

Here in sunny Sacramento, grilling season definitely hasn’t ended just yet! So I knew this was the perfect time to try something for the holiday season on our grill! I know this is not the typical way to cook turkey, but grilling turkey is actually the best way to cook it! ;) Grilling turkey makes it more tender and juicy, and SO delicious! Plus, it gave us another excuse to use our Nexgrill from The Home Depot, which has been such an amazing gift. We had the Nexgrill delivered to our house for free, which was amazing because life can get a little busy around here! ;) They do free delivery for all grills purchased online, or they’ll even assemble it for free when you purchase in-store. So so helpful!

Thanksgiving Turkey

To make these Thanksgiving sandwich sliders, you will need a 12 pack of dinner rolls, 1 can of whole cranberry sauce, 1 24oz. turkey tenderloin, 4 tablespoons of butter for the stuffing, a 6oz. box of Stove Top stuffing mix, mayo, and 2 tablespoons salted butter (for brushing rolls). You’ll also need a grill of course! ;) We’ve been obsessed with using our Nexgrill since we got it, and my dad can’t stop talking about it now. Plus, that free delivery for online purchases and free assembly in-store for all grills really makes it so much easier to give a grill as a gift. Might need to order him one for Christmas!

How to Grill Turkey Breasts

First, you will need to preheat the Nexgrill on medium, then wrap the turkey tenderloin in foil and place on the grill once it’s warm. Grill the turkey for 40 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. While the turkey is cooking, you can make the stuffing! For the stuffing, follow the instructions on the package, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Next, cut all of the rolls in half, but make sure they are intact as a whole! Remove the roll tops and put the stuffing in an even layer on the bottom half of the rolls.

Once the turkey is done, cut the grilled turkey tenderloin the short way, and place one slice of the turkey on each roll. Spread the cranberry sauce on each slice of the turkey and spread mayo on the underside of each top roll. Put the roll tops back on the sandwich and brush each of them with melted butter. Put the sliders on a baking pan and bake the sliders in the oven for 5-10 minutes until the rolls are brown or get a little crispy. Once they are a bit crispy, they are ready to be served!!
