These Spider Donuts are one of my all-time favorite Halloween treats! They turn store-bought glazed donuts and donut holes into the cutest little spiders with chocolate frosting legs, and candy eyes. They’re SO easy to make and always such a fun addition to any Halloween party!

Four glazed Halloween donuts are decorated with chocolate spider bodies, candy eyes, and black icing legs. One sits on an orange plate, while the others are arranged on a white serving board over a spiderweb-patterned tablecloth.

The Cutest Halloween Donuts!

These 🎃 SPIDER DONUTS! 🕸️ are one of my all-time favorite Halloween desserts, and I love how something as simple as a store-bought glazed donut can turn into the cutest little spider!

The best part is how much personality they have. The soft, sweet glazed donut becomes the spider’s body, while the chocolate donut hole in the center makes each one look like a tiny little creature. Add the black frosting legs and those candy eyes, and BOOM… you have an adorable Halloween treat!

Just don’t make my mistake and make sure to pipe 4 legs on each side… not 3 legs as spiders technically have 8 legs. You would not believe how many angry comments and messages I receive when I post 6 legged spider desserts on social media. 🫢

I especially love these for Halloween parties and events because they look so fun on a dessert table without requiring a complicated recipe. They’re playful, festive, and such a creative way to dress up simple donuts for the holiday.

By the way, if you’re looking for more Halloween spider recipes, I have several here.

And you really don’t need much to make them feel special. A few simple decorations completely change the look of the donuts and give them that spooky-cute Halloween feel. 🕸️🩷👻🎃

This recipe is from my cookbook, Celebrating Every Day, along with lots of other fun Halloween treats you’ll love! If you’re putting together a spooky dessert spread, these would be SO cute alongside my Spider Web Cheesecake.

Instructions

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the chocolate candy melts for 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted, about 1 minute total.

Notes

  • If using store-bought chocolate donut holes, skip the dipping step.
  • Use a small dab of decorating icing to attach the candy eyes.
  • Whatever you do, don’t make my mistake and pipe 3 legs on each side. Spiders have 8 legs total.
