Summer Celebration

Calling all sโ€™mores lovers! Can you believe summer is already here?! The school year has officially come to an end, and I knew we needed to line up some fun activities to celebrate. With everything thatโ€™s been going on, school looked a little different this year, and I wanted to plan something super fun, so we pretended we were camping in the backyard and threw a s’mores party!

A woman in a white dress holds a tray of smores near a fire pit. She smiles at a young girl reaching for the treats. A boy sits nearby on the outdoor sofa. The setting is a backyard with decorative rocks and plants.

A boy and a girl sit on a patio couch. The boy is wearing a striped blue shirt and khaki shorts, while the girl is in a light blue dress. She holds marshmallows on skewers and both are smiling. Theres a fire pit in the foreground.

A shopping bag on a wooden table contains Honey Maid graham crackers, a Hersheys chocolate bar, and a pack of Jet-Puffed marshmallows, suggesting an arrangement for making smores. The bag features a large red ampersand.

Backyard Camping

Weโ€™ve been having so much fun in our backyard since weโ€™ve been home more often. Iโ€™m so thankful for this space! And as the weather continues to get warmer and the days are longer, it was the perfect chance to get all of the ingredients for a super fun family activity! We spent the evening pretending we were camping and even pulled out all of the ingredients to make s’mores for an extra special treat!

S’mores Ingredients

Seriously, if you love Taco Tuesday just as much as we do around here, itโ€™s time to bring Sโ€™mores Saturday into the mix!

How to Make S’mores

To get the Sโ€™mores party started, put together a super simple platter with all of the ingredients. I grabbed a tin tray and put marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, and the marshmallow roasting sticks all on the tray for easy access. Then it’s time to party! Have the kids toast their marshmallow over the fire with your help. Once golden brown (or however you like them cooked), place the marshmallow on one graham cracker, add chocolate, and top with a second graham cracker.

Summer Activities for Kids

Thereโ€™s just something so classic and nostalgic about making sโ€™mores — I just love it! And the kids have so much fun with it too! We spent the whole evening out in the backyard laughing the night away while making sโ€™mores. It was the perfect way to celebrate and kick off summer and create lasting memories along the way.
